Solving For Social Distancing and Mental Health With Frank King

What I'm about to tell you is something that we do every day pandemic or not. it's important that you, have a safe or self care plan. And my self-care plan is, is five things diet I'm on the keto diet, intermittent fasting, exercise. I've got some immuno stretchy bands. I got an old, Nordic track. A good night's sleep and we'll come back to how that plays in, in a minute on another tip, medication, if indicated and meditation, medication, by the way, if you, and I would say, if you are, thinking, Hey, I may be depressed, have a tele-health mental health, evaluation.
And if medication is indicated, There's now a cheek swab DNA test. They take your DNA, they put it up against the long list of antidepressants and they tell you which couple will work best with your metabolism. So diet, exercise, sleep, meditation medication

Solving for the Future of Work with David Timis, Outgoing Curator at Brussels Global Shapers Hub

I think mental health is becoming more of an issue or an opportunity, I think, because even before people were experiencing different mental health issues at work, but they were just disconsidered and now more and more CEO's and obviously the HR department, which is probably the department which should be responsible for this and taking this more into account, how personal lives and what's happening outside of their control with Covid is impacting their work and being a bit more flexible concerning this and being more willing to let people off, even if it's not a disease, it's simply if they have a bad day mentally or emotionally. So I think this whole topic became front stage because of this difficult times we're all experiencing.

Communication + Eating Disorders with Kaitlyn Chana, Founder & President Reel Stories Real People

I've always jokingly said, like I have a toolkit and whenever I get stressed or overwhelmed, I have a card of 10 things that I do. So the first one is that maybe it's writing out, what's causing me to be stressed and different things. The second one is going for a walk. Maybe it's calling three friends, writing, saying affirmations, whatever the case is.

I think it's okay. Teaching yourself, how to provide self care in a time when like you have, new control of what's happening around you. And that doesn't have to be right now. That's even with any type of, illness. It's like, how do you soothe yourself when. You have no control of the outside environment.

The only thing that you can control is yourself. And that's the beautiful thing is you have a choice. You have a choice in your activities of which ones you want to engage in and which ones you don't, and you have a choice in how you want to help yourself.
