I have lived experience with suicidal thoughts and have managed to turn my life around to now living a life I love.

Originally I was a chef/restaurant manager working long hours and weekends. One day I woke up and realised I couldn't be nice to people any more and that if I continued to work in hospitality I would never be able to spend anytime with my kids. So I quit and became a painter and decorator working with a friend of mine. I did that for 10 years and then decided like most other tradies that i could do it better on my own. I quickly realised that I was great at Painting and decorating but really bad at running a business. Things quickly spiralled out of control and before I knew it I was in debt up to my eyeballs and failing at being a business owner. It was at this point I had no idea what to do and my mental state was very low. I had suicidal thoughts and was even at one point sitting in my car on the dege of a cliff considering if I drive off or not. It was at this point that a thought came to me that I hadn't considered and that was would my insurance policy cover me if I took my own life. Would i be leaving my family finalcially destitute? I went staright home to check out my policy and sure enough it didn't cover me. So i knew at this point I had to turn things around and I reached out for help an the rest is history. I am now living a life I love instead of trying to escape the life I have.
